Networking with Other Retirees

Retirees are a special group of people.  We have survived many trials and tribulations in our journey to get here.  We don't have to go it alone in our final years even if our children are living out of state or we are childless.  We just need to get ourselves organized.

Failing to plan is planning to fail.  My husband is always teasing that I have been "killing" him off for years.  In fact, I am merely intellectually and emotionally coming to terms with the fact that more husbands than wives die first especially if they are older.

Both husbands and wives should not avoid discussing the probability that one will be left behind regardless of who goes first.  It is simply life in action.  I think that couples would probably gain peace of mind if issues are discussed in an intellectual construct when neither one is in ill health.

It is strange but sometimes it is much easier to discuss difficult issues online with like-minded folks while maintaining initial anonymity.  I will try to get the conversation started by putting up a couple of issues regarding Aging in Place, Emergency Contacts and Running a Home-Based Business.

You are welcomed to email Margaret with issues you would like covered and I will see if they can be incorporated into the site.  I have also set up a Facebook group called  " Baby Boomers Network " which you can access at
