Singapore

We flew into Singapore around midnight on November 7, 2012 after a very long tiring flight from Edmonton, Canada.  This was the final leg of our 3-month mega trip.  We were staying till after Christmas as I had family in Singapore.

Xmas  in  Singapore

Christmas is celebrated in a  BIG  way in Singapore.  Words alone don't do justice to the way Orchard Road and the surrounding areas are decked out.

Santa's sleigh and reindeer greet shoppers outside Tanglin Mall while tourists and locals alike delight in taking photos of themselves with the 4-storey tall Xmas tree adorning the foyer of Takashimaya Mall in Orchard Road

Paul & Susan's  Home

Xmas  at  Sis Susan's

We split our stay between my mom's home and my first cousin's home.  I visited mom almost daily while we were at Susan's but it was simply too great an invite to decline.

They had a fabulous 3-storey pool home complete with live-in maid and delicious home-cooked meals every day.  They also took us to lunch at the exclusive Tanglin Club every Sunday after mass.

Marina  Bay  Sands

Evening  Cocktails  by  the  Pool

The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands is one of Singapore's largest and most luxurious shopping mall.  Tourists and locals alike can enjoy shopping and dining till the wee hours every day of the week.  They can also take a "gondola" ride while people watch diners !!!

We left Singapore for the States on January 2013 after ringing in the New Year.  It had been a little over 3 months since we left on October 4 the year before !!!
